Concordia Stingers 13 vs. McGill Redmen 8

The weather was cool and damp and both teams had a rough afternoon. Concordia rookie quarterback Liam Mahoney, playing in his second start completed 8 of 13 passes for 102 yards. He had one interseption and rushed for 181 yards.

Concordia's touchdown was scored Curtis Cates on a 7 yard run completing a nine play 75 yard drive. Rene Paredes kicked 2 field goals.

McGill took a 7 to 3 lead at halftime. Quarterback Matt Connell threw a 5 yard pass to Eric Galas for the touchdown. Matt Connell passed 37 times and completed 21 for 244 yards in a losing cause. Connell's 940 attempts and 557 completions has set a conference passing record.

 
     
 

Ken Halferty will be this years Honorary Chairman

The Montreal Shrine Bowl Committee is pleased that Ken Halferty will be this years Honorary Chairman. Ken is married to his childhood sweetheart and they have two sons and one daughter. They reside in St.Lazare Que. Ken is the Vice President of Sales for Rogers Wireless.

His Football career started with Puis X High School and he went on to play for Vanier College (CEGEP) and laterly with McGill University and University of New Brunswick. He played cornerback and defensive half. His last active involvement with football was coach for Sun Youth.
